In 2010, we are undertaking our biggest tree planting campaign yet. We are preparing the ground to plant close to 3 hectares (7.5 acres) of trees. That´s over 2000 trees, twice as much as in previous years! This year´s focus and Heritage Tree Species include brazil nut (Bertholletia excelsa), sangre de grado (Croton lechleri), quillobordon (Aspidosperma sp.), and several others.

We are pleased to announce that we are now more than half way to our goal of raising $25,000 for the purchase of 100 more acres (40 hectares) in the community of Baltimori in the exquisite rainforests of Tambopata. Acquiring this adjacent land would mean more than doubling the size of our existing center. 20 of the 100 acres have been previously farm, leaving room for our reforestation efforts.
