Tree planting campaign 2010-2011

In 2010, we are undertaking our biggest tree planting campaign yet.  We are preparing the ground to plant close to 3 hectares (7.5 acres) of trees.  That´s over 2000 trees, twice as much as in previous years!  This year´s focus and Heritage Tree Species include brazil nut (Bertholletia excelsa), sangre de grado (Croton lechleri), quillobordon (Aspidosperma sp.), and several others. 

Additionally, we will begin the planning and planting of an ornamental tree concentration.  To date, the Living Seed Bank includes 50 ornamental tree species.  This year we hope to increase that number by fifty per cent.
