Asociación de Agricultura Ecológica (Association for Ecological Agriculture)

This Puerto Maldonado-based organization is an important pillar of support and networking for and among local farmers practicing agroforestry and organic agriculture.  Their experience and involvement with local communities makes them an unparalleled ally in establishing a tree-based agriculture (i.e., agroforestry) in the Madre de Dios region of Peru.

AMBRAE - Asociación de Moradores de Baltimori que Realizan Actividades de Ecoturismo (Association of Inhabitants of Baltimori Realizing Activities of Ecotourism)

Currently the community of Baltimori’s only officially registered association is this cooperative of families involved in home stay-style ecotourism.  Because the community’s main assembly has not yet been registered through the necessary bureaucracy, AMBRAE has functioned for the past two years as the community’s only official voice to solicit aide and improvements from regional government.  Our Executive Director is an active member and vice-president of AMBRAE, an association which like Camino Verde seeks to improve the quality of life in the community of Baltimori.
